A family tradition since 1967

Our Story

Buildings change. Generations change. Some things are worth holding onto.
1959
Jerry & Evie Miller

Where It Began

Jerry & Evie Miller

Jerry and Evelyn "Evie" Miller moved from Berwyn to Antioch and owned a building at Rollins and Washington. When a fire destroyed it, they saw an opportunity instead of an ending — and chose to join the growing Dog n Suds franchise, founded in the mid-1950s by two teachers in Champaign. In March 1967, the Ingleside Dog n Suds opened its doors.

1971
Roy Miller

Second Generation

Roy Miller

A former band and choir director, Roy joined the family business and even opened a second location in Waukegan. In the mid-'80s, Roy and his late wife Sherrill started the Saturday Nite Cruise Nites — classic cars, car hops in poodle skirts, hula hoop contests and live entertainment.

1990s
Brad & Ann Miller

Third Generation

Brad & Ann Miller

Brad made Cruise Nites a signature tradition and mentored countless local teens in their very first jobs. It was here he met Ann, who became the familiar face up front. Brad served as general manager until his sudden passing in 2022 — his legacy lives on in every mug we pour.

Today
Bradley & Jeffrey

Fourth Generation

Bradley & Jeffrey

Bradley grew up serving root beer as soon as he could reach the counter. Today he runs day-to-day operations, while his brother Jeffrey works the backline — and entertains kids as Rover on Saturday nights.
